Jets Mathieu Perreault Out Indefinitely with Concussion

At the Winnipeg Jets morning skate Monday morning, head coach Paul Maurice confirmed that forward Mathieu Perreault is out indefinitely with a concussion.  Though the Jets did not give a timetable for return, it seems highly possible that Perreault will miss the rest of the 2015-2016 regular season.  And with Winnipeg way out of a playoff position, that means Perreault’s season is over.

Mathieu Perreault suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.  Perreault collided with Ducks Simon Despres and fell awkwardly into the boards during the second period, hitting his head hard. He would go on to leave the game and would not return.  “He’s got to go through the protocal.  I don’t have any timetable on that,” commented head coach Paul Maurice.

Perreault joins teammates Bryan Little and Nikolaj Elhers on the injured shelf.  Perreault had 9 goals and 32 assists for a total of 41 points in 71 games played this season.

The Jets face off at home Tuesday night when they host the Vancouver Canucks.
