Lamar Miller To Sign with Houston Texans
The 24-year-old Miller led Miami in rushing yards the past three seasons. In 2015, he finished with 872 yards on the ground along with eight rushing touchdowns. He also had his best year as a pass-catching back, adding a career high 397 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions.
Miller’s most prolific season came a year earlier. He was one of 13 running backs in the league to top the 1,000-yard mark in rushing yards with 1,099. That total was good enough for tenth best in the league during the 2014 season. In week 17 against the Jets, Miller broke off for a franchise record 97-yard touchdown run. The Dolphins would finish 8-8 for the second straight season.
The Miami native has spent virtually his entire playing career from youth level to the pros in the area. He starred at Killian High School before moving onto the University of Miami. During his redshirt sophomore season, he would become the first Hurricanes running back since Willis McGahee in 2002 to rush for over 1,000 yards.
Miller was drafted by the Dolphins in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. For his career, he has a total of 3,817 yards from scrimmage and 22 touchdowns including 19 on the ground.
