FA Cup Sixth Round Draw in Full

The FA Cup Sixth Round draw was done on BBC Two as Everton drew Chelsea at home in what will probably be the tie of the round. The Toffees, five-time winners of the competition, are five-time winners of the oldest cup competition in the world and last won it in 1995, when they shocked Manchester United in the final.

Either Shrewsbury Town or Manchester United, looking to salvage something from a disappointing season by winning a trophy, will play West Ham United at home. The Hammers cruised past Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Sunday afternoon, winning 5-1. United will be looking to win the competition for the twelfth time, and by doing so they will equal Arsenal’s record for most times winner.

Crystal Palace, who held on to famously win 1-0 at White Hart Lane earlier today, will travel to last year’s semi-finalists Reading, who are looking for two trips to Wembley in consecutive seasons. Palace are currently flying under manager Alan Pardew, who played for the South London club when they last reached the final of the tournament in 1990. Winning the famous competition would be the perfect way to top off a brilliant season.

Either Hull City or Arsenal, who drew 0-0 at the Emirates on Saturday, will play at home to Watford, who beat Leeds to get to the Sixth Round. The teams who played out a stalemate will play a replay at Hull’s KC Stadium. Tournament holders Arsenal, looking for a third consecutive FA Cup win, have been drawn at home at every opportunity in this year’s competition, just as they were in 2014, when they won the competition (beating Hull in the final) to end a nine-year trophy drought.

The matches will take place between 11th-14th March.
