Saint Louis FC Preseason Camp Has Begun
ST. LOUIS (February 17, 2016) – The 2016 Saint Louis FC Preseason Camp began today as the squad trained for the first time together at the St. Louis Scott Gallagher complex in Collinsville, Illinois. Head Coach Dale Schilly took the team through a variety of drills before turning them loose for a twelve minute 11 v 11 scrimmage to close out the first session.
“We’ve had two long days of meetings, preparation, headshots and all those things, so to finally get out and let the guys run around was important.” Schilly said. “I thought there was a great spirit, which you expect. I thought there were a lot of good voices and communication, which you don’t necessarily expect from a group of guys coming together for the first time. All in all, I thought it was pretty good.”
The preseason activity ramps up even further tomorrow as the team will begin training twice a day. With training scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in Collinsville, the team will get a good amount of work in before traveling to Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday evening.
