As the free agent period is almost here (February 9) in the CFL, we look at the list of the most coveted free agents. LWOS CFL in conjunction with Let’s Talk CFL podcast have compiled a list of the five CFL free agents we feel could have the biggest impact this season and will be the most sought-after.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, however, we looked at past stats, future impact, as well as the holes they would potentially leave if they were not re-signed by their current teams.
What do you think, CFL fans? Who are the top CFL free agents in this year’s FA class? Have your say by voting below and adding your comments with your analysis.
Andrew Harris: After Cornish retired, look for Harris to carry the load on behalf of Canadian running backs.
Ted Laurent: Big Ted Laurent is the ultimate interior lineman. This Canadian could be the best lineman regardless of position in the CFL.
Justin Capiccioti: Capicciotti is not talked about enough, but make no mistake, he will be a prize for whatever team lands him. 26 years old and 12 sacks (11 in 2014) make him an instant threat.
Courtney Stephen: After Delvin Breaulx left for the NFL, the Ticats re-loaded with Courtney Stephen, the newest shutdown corner, and perhaps the best in the CFL.
Josh Bourke: Bourke is a mammoth both in size and in play. This perennial stand-out left tackle will have quarterbacks around the CFL urging their GM’s to pull the trigger.
