Sports. Honestly. Since 2011

Interview with CFL Linebacker David Hinds

I recently had done an interview with linebacker and current free agent David Hinds. Hinds played and started for the Redblacks last season. He had 41 tackles and 2 sacks in 2015, in 12 games. He started out as the back-up, but consistent play and injuries to Malik Jackson and Travis Brown paved the way for Hinds to start. He took the job and ran with it and all the way to the Grey Cup, in which he started.

Right now he has to be a priority to re-sign for the Ottawa Redblacks. Here is the interview with the Florida Atlantic product.

Interview with CFL Linebacker David Hinds

Cole: Hello, David thanks for doing this. First question, who helped you the most when you got to the CFL?

David: Coach Oz (defensive assistant Derrick Oswalt) was always in my ear on how to be better up here and what they wanted to see from me.

Cole:  What is your favourite thing about Canada?

David: The food. It is great up here.

Cole: What made you become a football player?

David: I’ve played football since I was five-years-old, with bigger kids, and I was just good at it. It made me happy. Football was truly the only place I knew who I was. So why not try and get paid for it, if it’s available?

Cole: If you weren’t a football player, what would you be?

David: CEO of my own company, or an owner of properties.

Cole: Best stadium in CFL?

David: The Redblacks’ stadium is the best stadium in the league! Then Winnipeg.

Cole: Favourite player growing up?

David: Sean Taylor!

Cole: What was it like to start a Grey Cup game?

David: One hell of an experience can’t. I can’t wait to get back and win it.

Cole: Thank you for your time and have a good season next year.
