The Chicago Bulls have announced that center Joakim Noah will miss 4-6 months with a dislocated left shoulder. This is Noah’s second shoulder injury in a month, and will likely force Noah to miss the rest of the season.
The injury occurred in Friday’s game against Dallas, when Noah got tangled up with Mavericks center Javale McGee. Noah later had scans on his shoulder, and it was determined the big man needed surgery. The surgery will stabilize the shoulder, in an attempt to aid Noah’s recovery.
Joakim Noah to Miss 4-6 Months
Noah has averaged 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game coming off the bench for the Bulls this season.
The Bulls have put out a statement on Noah’s injury. “The details of the timing, location, and rehabilitation program have not yet been finalized, Noah is expected to make a full recovery.”
With Noah out long term with this shoulder injury, Taj Gibson and rookie Bobby Portis will see more minutes on the court as a result.
I don’t think the Bulls will fall apart at the seams without Noah. In fact, this injury could turn another Bull into a future star. If you haven’t heard of Bobby Portis, then you aren’t a Bulls fan, because they are going crazy for this rookie. With more time on the court, Portis could blossom into a real talent for this Bulls team.
