Why Doesn't Carlos Boozer Have a Job?

Boozer is one of the best, most experienced power porwards on the NBA free-agent market. The 13-year NBA verteran is currently injury-free, and is still very skilled as a big man, yet Boozer remains a free agent in January.

Why doesn’t Carlos Boozer have a job? Boozer is one of the best, most experienced power porwards on the NBA free-agent market. The 13-year NBA verteran is currently injury-free, and is still very skilled as a big man, yet Boozer remains a free agent in January.

Boozer appeared on the Fox Sports 1 show “The Herd, with Colin Cowherd” and confirmed he is only willing to join a championship contender. So my question is, why hasn’t a contender signed him yet?

Last appearing in the NBA during the 2014-15 season, Boozer averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game with the Los Angeles Lakers. These are such solid numbers, even if you halve these numbers and put Boozer on an NBA bench somewhere, that team will be getting a very consistent player.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors would be the two best fits for Carlos Boozer.

The Clippers need to freshen things up if they want to win a championship this year. Some guys need to ship out and some including Boozer should be coming in. The Clippers have won 10 games in a row, which is great but it’s not a championship – it’s a step to getting there. Boozer could be an under the radar stepping stone to get the Clippers their first ever championship.

The Warriors would be a very good destination for Boozer. If the Warriors plan to rest star players down the line Boozer would be a perfect player to step in for guys like Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut.

Carlos Boozer is a very well travelled and experienced player in the NBA and in life. Boozer was born in Germany, lived in Alaska, went to college at Duke and has played in Cleveland, Utah, Chicago and Los Angeles. That’s a lot of different places, and I think Boozer deserves to add one more to his long list in life.
