After Tom Coughlin announced his resignation as coach of the New York Giants, the team had interviewed six coaches for their vacant position. Among their candidates was the team’s current offensive co-ordinator, Ben McAdoo. According to sources such as Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the team has locked up McAdoo as their next head coach.
The #Eagles had strong interest in Ben McAdoo. That likely pushed the #Giants to close the deal with their offensive coordinator

Ben McAdoo Hired As New York Giants Head Coach
Before making this decision, the Giants were set to interview Hue Jackson for the position. He was to come in on Wednesday and talk to the team on Thursday. Instead the Cleveland Browns made a push and signed him as their head coach. This was likely another factor in the Giants choice to promote McAdoo.
Ben McAdoo previously spent years with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. He held multiple positions throughout his eight season with the team that included tight end and quarterback coach. He was a part of the team when they won Super Bowl XLV.
So Ben McAdoo is going to be the #Giants coach, per sources. Should make Eli Manning happy

Quarterback Eli Manning advocated for McAdoo to take over after Coughlin resigned. He mentioned that he would prefer to stay with the same offense that he’d been in for the past two seasons with Ben McAdoo at the helm. He also talked about the similarities between Coughlin and McAdoo.
“I guess from a selfish standpoint, yes, I’d like to be in the same offense,” Manning said. “I think coach McAdoo and I work well together, and our preparation and getting ready for each week. I think this year, I think I really had a firm grasp of the offense and what we were doing, we were on the same page and I think we did a good job.”
Giants are reported to announce Ben McAdoo as head coach either Thursday or Friday.
