A dismal year for the Dallas Cowboys, got a little worse on Thanksgiving Day. According to reports, the Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo, in his second game back after missing 7 straight with an injured collarbone, re-injured that collarbone. It is believed that Romo is done for the year.

It was the end of a rough day for Romo, who threw three interceptions, including two that were returned for touchdowns in the first half of the game.

Tony Romo was injured when he was sacked by Thomas Davis of the Panthers. Replays show Romo’s shoulder being slammed hard to the turf on the play.

Matt Cassel replaced Romo and led the Cowboys to their only touchdown of the game. The touchdown and two point conversion came well after the result of the game was no longer in doubt. The Panthers defeated the Cowboys 33-14 to improve to 11-0 on the season. The Cowboys, who lost all seven games without Romo earlier this year, fell to 3-8.
The decision to shut Romo down and get him healthy for the 2016 season was made easier by the fact that today’s loss essentially, but not mathematically, eliminates the Cowboys from playoff contention.
