For his 900th career point, Daniel threw the puck across the ice to brother Henrik, who proceeded to put the puck top shelf on Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford on a 5-on-3 power play. The goal tied the game at one apiece.
Daniel’s first of the night came after Henrik Sedin stole the puck from ‘Hawks defender Duncan Keith, and blindly threw it across the slot right to Daniel’s stick. It was the second power play goal of the night, and gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead, their first of the night.
Next up, his second of the night came after a cross-ice feed to the hashmarks, and then throwing it between Crawford’s arm for their second lead of the night at 4-3. Assists were awarded to Henrik Sedin and Alex Edler.
To cap things off, H. Sedin threw a beautiful pass through the Blackhawks defense for a perfect re-direct by Daniel, which resulted in a 5-3 Vancouver lead. The hat trick was met to just a couple of hats thrown onto the ice.
The hat trick was the sixth of his career, and his first since December of 2011 against the Colorado Avalanche. The Canucks play again tonight against the New Jersey Devils, as the they hope to win consecutive games for the first time since October 30th and November 2nd.
