Treble Radio: Chelsea’s Problems, Vardy’s Goals, and Vieira to NYCFC

Chelsea's Problems, Vardy's Goals, and Vieira to NYCFC are the biggest stories in a weekend full of narratives in the Premier League. With no games to preview, due to the always amazing international break, Treble Radio spends extra time diving into all the stories and letting you know what we think.

With the international break upon us, and no games to preview, this week’s podcast focuses on the biggest stories of the Premier League.  The big talking points are: Chelsea’s problems, Vardy’s goals, and Vieira to NYCFC

This premier league weekend had story-lines for days. Can Joe Mourinho feel the Earth beneath his feet? He was missing from the Stoke City match but we all know he’d rather not talk about his defeat and humiliation with the press anyway. We talked about this last week, but there continue to be issues for Chelsea. Also, at what point in the season, if they’re still near the bottom, do we actually have to talk about a relegation fight for Chelsea?

Leicester won again. Vardy scored again. This time, they didn’t even go 2-0 down first. Is this progress for the Foxes? How good is Jamie Vardy? How long can Leicester keep up their flying form?

Brad Guzan’s face saved the day for Remi Garde and Villa as they earned a point against league leaders Manchester City.  Are all hopes of City winning the league crushed due to injuries?

Newcastle stole points off a very deserving Bournemouth team, despite their own injury struggles.

How alone is Jurgen Klopp? Palace showed up and took all three points as Liverpool fans deserted their seats.

The North London Derby ended in a draw. Is Ozil Arsenal’s problem? Spurs seemed dominate but were unable to walk away with all three points somehow.

We also tackle a little Manchester City/MLS news with Patrick Vieira moving to New York City FC. Mistake or brilliance?

Join Arslan, Laura, and Eric every week as we discuss the latest in Premier League happenings.

Laura McFayden is a photographer living in the great city of Kansas City, Missouri. Her love for Manchester United is just as strong as her love for MLS club Sporting Kansas City and two time NWSL champions FC Kansas City. She is also an MLS editor for Last Word on Sports. She has played basketball, volleyball, softball, ran track, and did gymnastics, but none of those came close to soccer.

Eric Walcott is a Legislative Assistant in the Michigan House of Representatives by day, and a soccer fan 24/7. He’s played soccer his whole life and now covers MLS, Portland Timbers, and Arsenal for LWOS. Eric helped start the supporters group Sons of Ransom for NPSL club Lansing United because there’s nothing quite like standing in the crowd and supporting your local team every weekend. 4th place might not be a trophy, but THE FA CUP SURELY IS!

Treble Radio host, Arslan Siddiqui, is a Canadian who does not speak many languages, but he has definitely specialized in the language of the beautiful game. When his grasp of the language isn’t strong enough, he (tries) to substitute it with comedy. He is a Liverpool fan who started the ‘Anfield Alive’ column on Last Word On Sports, where he provides commentary and opinion on everything Liverpool and Premier League related. A university student and a young adult, he promises to provide entertainment and (a little bit of) knowledge!
