Johnny Manziel Has Interview Scheduled With The NFL

Not only might Johnny Manziel be the starting quarterback next week when the Cleveland Browns (2-5) host the Arizona Cardinals (4-2), but he apparently has an interview scheduled with the NFL as well. The league is investigating the domestic incident that occurred on October 12, between Manziel and his girlfriend Colleen Crowley.

Johnny Manziel Has Interview Scheduled With The NFL

According to the Northeast Ohio Media Group’s Mary Kay Cabot, the NFL has scheduled an interview with the second year pivot, but the exact date and location is not yet known.

The NFL is still investigating the incident that happened nearly two weeks ago, and depending what they discover, could either suspend or fine Manziel if they feel he violated the leagues personal conduct policy.  They could also put him on the commissioner’s exempt list, and have him undergo paid leave from the team, as they did last year in several high profile cases.

Johnny Manziel has not acknowledged that an interview has indeed been scheduled, but he did say he would cooperate if asked.

If anybody reaches out to me, I’ll fully cooperate with anything that they ask me,” he said after the Browns 24-6 loss to the St. Louis Rams. “Anything they need from me, I’m not shying away from that. I cooperated fully with Avon. I cooperated fully with everybody in the Browns and anybody that’s asked me anything.

It’s an ongoing situation, and I don’t really want to speak on it much more than that. If the situation does arise, I’ll fully cooperate. That’s really it.”

As for the Browns loss to the Rams, Manziel saw the field for the first time since he started week two for the Browns against the Tennessee Titans. He replaced an injured Josh McCown with just over five minutes to go in the game. On his lone drive, Manziel went 4-of-5 for 27 yards and had one carry for five yards.

If Josh McCown is unable to play against the Cardinals because of his shoulder, then Johnny Manziel would make his second start of the season, assuming there is no action taken by the league.
