QUESTIONS GOING INTO NFL WEEK SEVEN
WHO HAS THE MOMENTUM IN THE NFC EAST?
The Philadelphia Eagles took care of business at home versus the New York Giants on Monday night to take the lead of the NFC East. The Eagles and Giants are now both 3-3, with Philly holding the tiebreaker, and the Eagles are only one game ahead of the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. Each team has had weeks where they have looked really bad and it still looks like this division is up for grabs. Right now, I would say the Giants matchup with the Cowboys this week will determine who has the momentum. Philadelphia has a very tough matchup on the road versus the Carolina Panthers and Washington has a good matchup versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home. Overall, whoever walks out this week ahead of the division will have all of the momentum because this is a tough week for every team involved in this close division.
ARE THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS BACK WITH ANDREW LUCK RETURNING AT QUARTERBACK?
Even though the Indianapolis Colts lost to the New England Patriots Sunday night, their offense seemed to be back in a rhythm with Andrew Luck back as the signal caller. It was clear that his shoulder wasn’t 100%, but he was still able to make tough throws down the field and was able to establish a pretty efficient offense. They get to really see if they are prepared when they face a weak pass defense against the New Orleans Saints at home. If they look good, then expect this to carry on for the rest of the season. If they look bad, then it might be time to hit the panic button for Colts fans.
WILL THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS BE ABLE TO CATCH UP TO THE ARIZONA CARDINALS?
Every one of the Seattle Seahawks’ losses this season have happened when the team blew a lead going into the fourth quarter. So, what this means is that this team has had every opportunity to be undefeated, but they just haven’t been able to finish out games. I think that this team is too good to count them out of playoff contention. The Arizona Cardinals though, have a lead in the division and the St. Louis Rams are looking to make some noise this year as well. Seattle has a bye week this week and that gives them time to figure out whether they want to take this division or if they want to let somebody else take it. Overall, I can see them giving the Cardinals a run for their money, but Arizona is too balanced and too hungry for that division title, but I do expect Seattle to fight for a wild card spot.
WHAT SHOULD THE CLEVELAND BROWNS DO WITH JOHNNY MANZIEL?
With the recent news of Johnny Manziel dealing with police after an altercation with his girlfriend, it seems like the Cleveland Browns have a problem on their hands. I know that he is a backup quarterback and this shouldn’t be a big deal, but it is because he came into the NFL with the Johnny Football persona and he could possibly be the future of the Browns. This becomes even more of a big deal with all of the trouble that wide receiver Josh Gordon and cornerback Justin Gilbert have found themselves in as well. Overall, Cleveland still needs to hang onto him but let him know that this is his last strike. He has seemed to show that he has matured over his time in Cleveland and he needs to further prove that he is a new person who is ready to take on the pressures of being an NFL quarterback. If Manziel feels like this team is behind him 100%, then he may feel the need to change for the better and stay that way. But, if the team throws him under the bus, then expect him to go the way of Josh Gordon really soon.
