Former NBA player, Lamar Odom has been hospitalized since October 13th after being found unconscious in a brothel in Pahrump, Nevada. The two-time NBA champ had been going through a highly publicized divorce with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian. However, while hospitalized in recovery, TMZ reported that Odom and Kardashian agreed to dismiss their divorce case.

Us Weekly reported that Kardashian had remained by Odom’s side since the hospitalization. Kardashian rushed to Odom’s bedside the same day and has been a constant presence ever since. Kardashian has been making medical decisions for Odom.
Odom and Kardashian Starred in Reality TV Show “Khloe & Lamar”
The couple had married in 2009, one month after meeting and five days after announcing their engagement. They went on to star in their own reality TV show, “Khloe & Lamar.” The relationship appeared to unravel in 2013 when Odom was arrested for DUI. After Odom attended a rehab facility for only a few days, Kardashian filed for divorce a month later in December 2013.
According to TMZ, Kardashian delayed the divorce for 18 months in an attempt to save the marriage by trying to get Odom to attend rehab. Kardashian reportedly gave up on Odom this summer. They signed divorce papers, but did not finalize them.
Odom and Kardashian Filed Joint Motion to Dismiss Divorce
However, TMZ report that on Wednesday October 21st, the couple jointly filed a motion before a judge requesting to dismiss their divorce case because the couple wish to stay husband and wife. The judge granted the request.
TMZ produced a copy of the signed pleading by Odom. While all details about his current status have not been released, it has been speculated that the recovery will take months. A CNN source stated that “this is a difficult time for both Lamar and Khloe, and the most sensible thing to do at such a time is not make any big moves and put everything on hold. So that’s what she is doing.”
Us Weekly reported that Kardashian opted out of her sister Kim Karshashian’s 35th birthday party set for October 21st. Kardashian decided to stay by Odom’s side. A Us Weekly source said [concerning Odom’s recovery] that “It’s a slow process, but Khloe is there every step of the way.”
Odom was a 14-year NBA Veteran
The 4th pick in the 1999 draft hasn’t played a game in the NBA since the 2012-2013 season. Odom was a 14-year veteran who won back-to-back titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010. Odom was considered a versatile forward during his stints with the Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat.
Odom won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award after the 2010-11 season in which he averaged 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and three assists while hitting a career high 53% of his shots while playing for the Lakers.
