Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 was memorable for great racing, a close finish, and a bold move by race winner Joey Logano to spin Matt Kenseth while he was leading. And following the race, the tensions were high between the two drivers, and the war of words has fans excited for the remainder of the Chase and wondering who was in the right in the end.
Going back to the incident, Logano and Kenseth battled hard for nearly ten laps to settle who would win the race. The #22 Ford would chase the #20 Toyota up and down the Kansas Speedway, going bumper-to-bumper and side by side throughout. The battle was fierce, with Kenseth moving his line up to try and block Logano from passing him on the outside lane. And Logano was not having any of that.
“He came up and started taking my air away, as he should, and I had to kind of adjust what I was doing and try to find a fast way back to him. I was able to get those runs back to him and get back to him,” Logano told Ford Racing. Block me once, shame on me, block me twice shame on you, and Logano would take that to heart by moving Kenseth out of his way to try and race for the win.

After the race, Kenseth was not happy at all with Logano. “ “I won’t talk to Joey (Logano), I don’t have anything to talk to him about really. You make decisions every day, you make decisions every minute behind the wheel. To me strategically, that doesn’t seem like such a great decision for him, but it’s the one he made and that’s how he wanted to win…” But was Logano wrong to make that move?
Reactions from fans were mixed after the race. Many fans called the move dirty and unnecessary for a driver like Logano who had already secured his spot in the next round of the Chase. On the other hand, other fans were happy to see a hard battle for the win at a mile and a half track, where many times this season clean air has ruled supreme.
Odds of Joey Logano winning the 2015 Sprint Cup Championship while Matt Kenseth is still on the track are 1,000bazillion to 1.

In the end, it’s easy to say that the second race of the season at Kansas Speedway had one of the best finishes of the season, and regardless of who’s to blame in the battle of Matt Kenseth vs. Joey Logano, the heat has been turned up in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Let the excitement and tension continue to rise.
