Glad to bring you my suggestions for lineup construction this week for Daily Fantasy Sports. I play primarily on 3 sites per week: Draftkings, Fanduel, and GoDraft. Since I am most active on GoDraft I will mention the prices they use for my Top Shelf options and Bargain Bin suggestions. You can always message me at @shppirate12 on twitter with specific questions about players or matchups.
Week 6 Daily Fantasy Sports Plays
Top Shelf QB:
- Tom Brady is priced at $17,000, down $300 from last week. I like his matchup more this week vs the Colts than I did last week vs the Cowboys. A little over a month ago we didn’t think Brady would be playing in the 1st 4 games of the season. At this point he is the #1 QB in fantasy football averaging just under 26 points per game. In addition the Patriots have been throwing the ball early and often. Dion Lewis has been unreal out of the backfield and the Patriots keep rolling. If Brady needed any additional motivation this week the opponent is the Indianapolis Colts who blew the whistle on Brady and the Patriots in the AFC Championship game that started deflate gate. Indy is bad at defending the pass and ranks bottom 3rd in most fantasy points allowed overall. The Patriots have a team total of 32 points in this game by Vegas. A Brady stack will cost you but Gronk, Edelman, and Dion Lewis are all good options to play next to Brady. Maybe even a double stack of Brady and two of these receiving options will be contrarian enough to win a big GPP.
Bargain Bin QB:
- The price on Andy Dalton is mind boggling. His price is a modest $12,300 on GoDraft. Truth be told I just made my 1st lineup on GoDraft for this week and went with Dalton. He is cheap and has a great matchup vs the Buffalo Bills. On the season opponents are passing 70% of the time vs Buffalo. The highest pass to run ratio in the league. I expect to see a balanced attack from Cincinnati but Dalton will use the pass to take advantage of his weapons. He has AJ Green, Tyler Eifert, Marvin Jones, and Mohamed Sanu who can all hurt the defense. Dalton is coming off a 331 yard, 2 TD game vs Seattle last week and also had a 72 yard TD to AJ Green called back because of penalty. I like that stack to hit the end zone this week and I played the Dalton/Green stack in my lineup.
Top Shelf RB:
- Adrian Peterson is coming off his bye week and dropped in price. You can insert him into your lineups for $16,000. I am not sure why his price is down after a bye week but I’ll take it. Peterson should be well over 20 touches again this week vs a Kansas City Chiefs team this is dead last in fantasy points allowed per game. We always like to be in this spot with the home team Vikings penciled in as 3 point favorites. Vegas sees this game script the same way I do and Adrian Peterson is the beneficiary.
Bargain Bin RB:
- Carlos Hyde is priced at $9,000 this week and is in a great spot. Hyde had over 20 touches vs the New York Giants on Sunday night and looked good vs a good rush defense. I think his price drop is unwarranted but take advantage of the savings as he’s a volume guy playing against a bad Baltimore defense after a few injuries to the defense. Hyde is a three down back and will get a few targets out of the backfield which helps reach value in a PPR format. I like Hyde out of the backfield like Duke Johnson took advantage last week. Baltimore is bottom 5 overall in fantasy points given up per game so take advantage of the soft price on Hyde.
Top Shelf WR:
- DeAndre Hopkins is not the top priced WR on GoDraft. I’m not sure why based on his numbers but I’ll get him in my lineups at $14,900. DeAndre has a very juicy matchup this week vs Jacksonville. Jacksonville is in the bottom 3rd of defenses giving up 81+ fantasy points per game. I expect this to be a close game which means a high volume of meaningful targets this week. DeAndre is averaging 14.8 targets, 8.4 catches and 115 yards per game. In addition he has been on the field for 69 more snaps than any other WR this season. He has plenty of opportunity and I like the spot he is in this week.
Bargain Bin WR:
- I am going minimum price this week. At $4,600 on GoDraft you can plug in Dwayne Harris of the New York Giants which would make a nice contrarian stack with Eli Manning. Harris is the slot receiver who took over for Preston Parker after the Giants cut him after week 2. In the last two weeks he has seen 5 catches for 51 yards and a TD vs Buffalo and caught 6 passes for 72 yards vs San Francisco. Beckham sat out of practice on Thursday and is GTD and Reuben Randle also has hamstring issues. The Giants base package is 3 WR sets so Harris will be on the field and they should see an increase in plays run vs Philly because of their up-tempo style.
Top Shelf TE:
- Rob Gronkowski is the top priced TE because he is a beast. After two mediocre weeks I sense something brewing. Gronk goes for $15,800 on GoDraft and I predict he gets in the end zone this week at least once. Week 1 was a Gronk week and I think Brady needs to show Gronk some TD love. At his price you just want to see the TD to really solidify this decision. Vegas has the Patriots scoring 31.25 points this week so there is plenty of room for a Gronk TD in the forecast.
Bargain Bin TE:
- Delanie Walker carries a GoDraft price of $8,000. Walker is another guy priced too low. Miami has been victimized by decent TEs in two contests this year and Walker is a quality target. The Tennessee run game has been brutal so short passes to Walker will put them in good down and distance in late down situations. Walker has seen 19 targets in three games played and I expect him to grab 5 or 6 balls this week which is nice in PPR formats.
Good luck this week playing Daily Fantasy Sports. I have a contest in the lobby at godraft.com for my readers if you want to compete against me. Come look for the $5 NFL DFS5s in the GoDraft lobby.
