The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes today announced that quarterback Kevin Glenn will be moving to Montreal for the rest of the 2015 CFL season, just before the league’s trade deadline.
Montreal’s Jim Popp is clearly desperate to find a new quarterback to add to his game day carousel. With Rakeem Cato out for an unknown period, Popp needed to have another option on hand; now he’ll be able to keep up his here today, gone later today style of offensive coaching intact.
In return, the Sad Sack Roughriders receive a fifth round draft pick in the 2016 CFL Draft, and some significant salary savings. No word on whether quarterback Tino Sunseri will be welcomed back into the Riders fold, but Saskatchewan’s season is done anyway.
