Wrestling News to Start Your Week

Rusev and Lana have officially gotten engaged! With TMZ leaking the story, the WWE decided to drop their awful storyline and just run off with reality in hopes to jump on the news bandwagon and get some traction with it. Talk about working a shoot…

With all of the talk of Gunner coming to the WWE, it ended up being a different TNA star who made the jump: “Cowboy” James Storm! Storm, a good friend of Billy Gunn, made his debut with the company to the shock and surprise of many. Storm was the TNA original, having worked there from the very first weekly pay per view all the way up to this year. It was always thought that he was a bit too old to work in WWE and had too much TNA stain but this is a good opportunity for him. There isn’t a single available wrestler the WWE could have acquired that’s a more experienced tag wrestler. He’ll be great for a young up and comer.

In what shouldn’t be that big of a surprise, Sami Zayn is working in EVOLVE wrestling as a part of their deal with the WWE. Zayn hasn’t worked since getting injured so this should be a good way for him to get his bearings back. One should not be too shocked on this. Be shocked if Sheamus appears in EVOLVE or Randy Orton works more than he’s expected to. This? Reminds me more of when Ohio Valley Wrestling would bring in Kane.

Bill DeMott’s daughter Keri died in a head on collision. We send our deepest condolences to the DeMott family.

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that the main event for Wrestle Kingdom X will be Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight championship against the man he has never been able to defeat at a Wrestle Kingdom event: Hiroshi Tanahashi!

Saturday, October 17th at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada is Border City Wrestling: Excellence: The Doug Chevalier Memorial 2015.
