In Singapore; Red Bull really showed they still have what it takes to fight at the front under the night lights of the marina bay circuit.
Despite so much talk of a power unit supplier for 2016 continuing to dominate the talk of team as well as it’s own future in the sport, it can sometimes detract from the racing side of things. So lets look onwards to this weekend.
2015 Japanese Grand Prix Preview: Red Bull
As we head to Suzuka; A circuit that Red Bull have won at on four of the past six occasions in the hands of Sebastian Vettel, it is quite clear to see that despite a lacklustre Renault power unit in the back of the current RB11, the chassis seems certainly very solid as you’d expect from an Adrian Newey design which bodes well for the first sector in the Senna Esses into Dunlop Curve.
Daniel Ricciardo secured fourth in last season’s race held in wet conditions due to typhoon Phanfone, while Daniil Kyvat finished 11th just outside the points. With Ricciardo securing a fantastic podium in Singapore, he will certainly be looking to get another at Suzuka. Kyvat will no doubt try to make sure it’s himself that gets on the rostrum to give himself momentum heading to his home race.
Returning to Suzuka and the scene of Jules Bianchi’s fatal accident will certainly be difficult for everyone, but there is certainly no doubting that every effort will be put in to a great race for everyone to honour his memory; as well as the superb Japanese crowd that always come in their droves to see these amazing machines.
Whatever is said over the weekend on 2016 and the Renault divorce, the racing action is still what will be the best thing to keep your eyes and ears on that’s for sure.
