Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor is to end his month’s long contract holdout. Reports from ESPN have stated that Chancellor will report to the team facility today and will put his contract dispute on hold until the end of the season.

Chancellor started his hold out before the start of training camp hoping to get a renegotiated contract along the lines of Marshawn Lynch achieved earlier in the year. One of the top safeties in the league the Seattle Seahawks have suffered without a key member of the legion of boom the team has given up 61 points and 713 total yards and losing their first two games of the season. They have also given up a staggering 11 pass plays for over 20 yards placing them second in the league.
Chancellor sent the following message to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith:
“Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren’t. God forgives all, why can’t i? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can’t let my Dawg down….Real talk.” (Sic)
Chancellor has already forfeited two game checks amounting to $267,647 and faces hefty fines from the team for not attending training camp but these are expected to be wavered in an attempt to rebuild trust.
The three time Pro Bowler is under contract until 2017 and unless the Seahawks can come to some mutual understanding a hold out could be on the agenda for next offseason.
