Labour Day is behind us, with all its surprises… well, only one surprise really: that it took this long for Saskatchewan to finally get a win. This week is mostly rematches, but with the home field advantage shifting, the results can vary wildly. Are you ready for some post-Labour-Day football? Check out the LWOS Week 12 CFL predictions and see whether you agree!
Week 12 CFL Predictions
Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts
Matt’s thoughts: It was a win that firmly put the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ stamp on the 2015 season. Last week’s Labour Day Classic was all Hamilton, from end to end: everything they tried worked (except the run game) and everything the Argonauts did in response was for naught. What will change this week? A little less wind and sun, a few less fans in the seats… but there’s no reason the Ticats won’t sweep the season series on Friday. Trevor Harris looks good, and Tori Gurley is a surprise sensation at wide receiver, but Zach Collaros and the rag-tag bunch of uninjured Tiger-Cats have their number.

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Greg’s thoughts: Since the birth of the Banjo Bowl, the Bombers have lost more than they have won on home field in the Labour Day rematch. Look for the Bombers to make some changes this week after giving the Riders their first win of the season. Recently acquired quarterback Matt Nichols should be lining up behind centre and Head Coach Mike O’Shea will be taking on the special teams coordinator duties after letting Pat Tracey go on Tuesday. While the veteran Nichols should be an upgrade over the play of Brian Brohm, don’t expect much of a change in special teams as O’Shea was already heavily involved in the system. Look for a loose and confident Roughriders team to continue their momentum on the road and get their second victory of the season.

Calgary Stampeders at Edmonton Eskimos
Gina’s thoughts: It was a close game and a game about defence. Calgary came out with a win over the Eskimos on Monday as Bo Levi Mitchell improves his record to 23-4. James Franklin and and the Eskimos played good ball, but the game came down to who would make the fewest mistakes and better plays. Calgary faces Edmonton again this Friday in the rematch. This one is a tough call, as home-field advantage often makes the difference. It will be close, but I think Calgary will sweep the Labour Day Classic again this year.

Matthew Bin: Calgary 31 – Edmonton 16
Nicholas di Giovanni: Calgary 27 – Edmonton 20
Greg McCulloch: Calgary 25 – Edmonton 36
Gina Schiltz: Calgary 26 – Edmonton 24
Ottawa Redblacks at B.C. Lions
Nick’s thoughts: The only game this week that features two teams who didn’t play each other last week will probably be the hardest game to predict. B.C. meets Ottawa for the first time since week 2 when the Redblacks to a surprise win at home. Both teams are playing up and down football; the Lions are playing their second game since their bye week following a victory in Montreal while the Redblacks return from a much-needed bye week. This game will come down to the wire with both offences be able to produce but the discipline will be the biggest factor. Both teams have been the victims have the orange flag many times this season and will need to keep the penalties in-check in order for a win. Don’t be surprised if the rested Redblacks walk away with a victory in Vancouver.
