Fantasy Profile: Dustin Hopkins, K, New Orleans Saints
The NCAA Division I record holder for career points scored by a kicker, Dustin Hopkins was selected by Buffalo in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft and appeared to have won the kicking job for the Bills before suffering a groin injury which cost him his entire rookie season. After losing the job in 2014 to veteran Dan Carpenter, Hopkins was released in August and signed by New Orleans late in the season. Entering training camp in a battle with Zach Hocker, however signs are pointing to Hopkins emerging as the leader for the job. This should be a position for savvy owners to keep an eye on, as the New Orleans kicker has been a good fantasy option for years under the offence run by Drew Brees and directed by Sean Payton.
