Fantasy Profile: Caleb Sturgis, K, Miami Dolphins

Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis finds himself in a good position to accumulate fantasy points, however his accuracy through two seasons leads me to believe he could be on the hot seat if he does not improve in his third season. Recording only 76.5% and 78.4% of his field goal conversions in his first two seasons, Sturgis also owns only a 60.6% conversion rate on field goals of 40-plus yards. These numbers are not good enough to keep a job as an NFL kicker. The volume may be there, but be wary of the Dolphins looking for outside help at some point, especially after final cuts are made around the league.  I would look to see if another comparable kicker, in terms of your projection of his team’s offense is there before I looked at drafting Sturgis.
