Sports. Honestly. Since 2011

2015 Belgian Grand Prix Manor Preview

It was expected prior to the season that Manor was to bring their 2015 challenger to Spa. However it would appear that the team has shifted focus solely to 2016 and the threat that the new Haas team would have over the coveted tenth place in the World Constructors’ Championship. Both of Manor’s drivers have experience around the mighty Spa-Francorchamps circuit, one of which having raced at the circuit twice already this year. Spa is one of those places where quite literally anything can happen, so in the event of a freak rain shower or a first corner mayhem, the drivers must be ready to strike.

2015 Belgian Grand Prix Manor Preview

No. 28 Will Stevens
Form: 17/17/R/13/16

Stevens has had a good run of form at Spa in the past. In the last two years here in Formula Renault 3.5, he has achieved two second places. He will be looking to get back on top of his team mate, who has been the superior of the two backmarkers in recent events. This would be the perfect place to do so, as Spa is a proper drivers’ circuit.

No. 98 Roberto Merhi
Form: 16/R/14/12/15

Bar one second place back in GP3; Spa has not been the best of hunting grounds for Merhi. He has already raced here twice this year, both times in Formula Renault 3.5, where he retired from the race on both occasions. He will be looking to keep up his strong run of form, which has seen him unbeaten by Stevens in each of the last five races.
