2015 Belgian Grand Prix Red Bull Preview

Finally, after one race in six weeks, the F1 circus heads deep into the Ardennes forest to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit for this weekend’s 2015 Belgian Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo will have fond memories of returning to Spa as he won here last year, with both Mercedes tripping over themselves and leaving the path wide open for Daniel to take his third win of the season. Daniil Kyvat did well, finishing ninth in the Toro Rosso last season. He kept pushing to get the that result, ever more proving why he was given the seat in the senior team.

After a superb result in Hungary, Red Bull will be keen to keep up their performance. Scoring a double podium was just what the doctor order for the team, even if it could have been another win for Daniel Ricciardo had he and Nico Rosberg not collided after turn one.

Despite the fast and flowing nature of the seven kilometre layout of Spa, Red Bull have won here three times in the past four years with only Jenson Button’s win in 2012 breaking up the pattern of results.

A strong engine is a big boost around Spa and unfortunately it’s something Renault still lack alongside reliability. Helmut Marko has come out and said he is expecting more engine penalties this season which is not going to help Red Bull fight off a resurging Force India who have clearly put the Bulls in their sights for fourth in the constructors’ championship.

It’ll be difficult to repeat the results of last year, but with the championship fight hotting up, the slightest slip up from anyone could open the door for more results heading Red Bull’s way.
