Fantasy Profile: Shane Vereen, RB, New York Giants

When healthy, Vereen had been a weapon in the New England offense, providing 8.4 standard fantasy points-per-game over the past two seasons. His move to the New York Giants leaves his role a little bit cloudy, as starting running back Rashad Jennings is a solid pass receiver in his own right, recording 30 receptions in only 11 games.

There is a possibility that Jennings is relegated to the bench in favor of a more dynamic duo approach with Andre Williams providing the “Thunder” to the “Lightning” role Vereen would occupy. Whatever plan coach Tom Coughlin has in store, they did not sign Vereen to let him rot, so he will be involved in the game plan fairly heavily. I am not sure 8.4 points-per-game is likely, but he should be able to top 8.0 and provide low end RB3 value.
