Fantasy Profile: Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Martin burst onto the scene in a big way as a rookie in 2012, recording 1,926 total yards and 12 touchdowns, working his way into the top three of most 2013 fantasy drafts. A disappointing season in 2013 ended with a shoulder issue after only six games, however his yards were not nearly as bad as most people remember, as he put up 522 total yards but only the one touchdown before getting hurt.

Entering 2014, a few fantasy owners felt there was bounce back potential and invested second-third round picks on Martin hoping to regain some of his rookie form; following 11 games and only 558 total yards and two touchdowns, it is fairly clear that the 2012 season was the outlier. Rookie quarterback Jameis Winston could help the run game, as he frees up the line of scrimmage, but the lack of talent on the offensive line will likely keep the Tampa Bay running game in check for another season.
