Fantasy Profile: Charles Sims, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Charles Sims was a hot sleeper in many early 2015 fantasy drafts, but his stock has cooled considerably as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff have publically put their support behind incumbent starter Doug Martin. Sims missed the first half of his rookie season recovering from an injury, and drew mixed reviews over his eight games, rushing for just 185 yarsds and 2.8 yards per carry. With average size (6’0”, 211 lbs) and average speed (4.48), Sims is athletic, but not to elite levels to be an NFL star.

Sims was an elite pass catcher in college, recording 203 receptions in his four college seasons, and 190 yards through the air last year. There is a chance he can work his way into playing time, even though Doug Martin has shown to be a good receiver out of the backfield as well. Odds are Sims will provide little value other than a handcuff to Martin owners.
