FANTASY PROFILE: JULIAN EDELMAN, WR, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Julian Edelman, the New England Patriots wide receiver, is more of a point-per-reception (PPR) monster than a solid standard scoring option. But he can still provide value in fantasy football as a good WR3 option, because a lot of owners write him off in standard leagues. The former Kansas State quarterback provides value as a consistent producer, with an average of 9.3 points-per-game. Edelman scored 8.1 points or more in nine of his 14 games last season so he will not give fantasy owners the big end weeks that a receiver like T.Y. Hilton will. But he also will not really disappoint fantasy owners on his down weeks based on his cheaper draft price. Edelman proved his worth during the New England Super Bowl run last season, providing three solid playoff games worth of stats with 26 receptions for 281 yards and a touchdown.
