Fantasy Profile: Larry Donnell, TE, New York Giants
Larry Donnell enjoyed a breakout season in 2014, recording 63 receptions for 623 yards and six touchdowns. While there is some value in those numbers, I am a little hesitant to buy-in again in 2015; my main concern is that when Odell Beckham Jr. arrived on the scene, Donnell had a tough time garnering targets, amassing only two 50+ yard games in the final nine games of the season. The six touchdowns of Donnell were skewed a bit as well, as three of them came in a single game in Week 3 against a horrendous Washington defense.
The return of wide receiver Victor Cruz from injury and addition of running back Shane Vereen puts another pair of thorns into the mix, as Cruz and Vereen are both primarily used in short route areas, meaning there will be even more competition for the available targets for Donnell in 2015. Further development of Beckham Jr. in his sophomore campaign could also complicate things.
