FANTASY PROFILE: Jimmy Graham, TE, Seattle Seahawks
Jimmy Graham was involved in one of the biggest off-season trades when he was dealt from the New Orleans to Seattle. The tight end will still have a great quarterback throwing him the ball in newly re-signed Russell Wilson. The problem for him, however, is that Seattle throws the ball considerably less than the Saints with such a strong running attack. Seattle is more of a ‘run-heavy and play good defense’ team, not resorting to the pass as often as other teams.
Despite this, Graham will still be a red zone target and should score points for fantasy owners with touchdowns with 10, 16 and 9 scored during the three past seasons. The yardage is where he might fall a bit short of the other marquee tight ends, as it is highly likely that there will be a drop in production in Seattle versus his respectable numbers with Brees throwing him the ball. Despite the drop, Graham will most likely be the second tight end drafted in most leagues and put up good numbers for your team — just don’t expect 1000 yards and 10 touchdown that he was accustomed to getting in New Orleans.
