BTCC Snetterton Preview

After a long summer break BTCC finally returns at Norfolk track Snetterton this weekend. Last time out at Croft the BMWs stretched their legs to take three wins at their strongest track. However, things may not be as easy for them at Snetterton.

BTCC Snetterton Preview

The biggest news to look out for this weekend is the return of Motorbase who weren’t able to take part in the first half of the season. They return this weekend with drivers Mat Jackson and James Cole. The Ford Focus cars will be welcomed back onto the grid with open arms as last season saw them regularly fight for wins and podiums so it will be great for everyone to see them back in the battle.

Unfortunately the Motorbase team returning doesn’t mean that the grid will be even larger this weekend as it was confirmed that Welch Motorsport, with drivers Dan Welch and a now spare drive, will not be taking part. This is due to the fact that they are missing parts for their engines as they don’t use the TOCA engines that every other team on the grid use.

The championship battle is seriously heating up at the front of the grid with the BMR drivers and in particular Jason Plato going strong at the front. He has been joined by both Honda drivers who are going into the next few tracks where they should be extremely strong. Andrew Jordan committed his future to the BTCC for another three years in the summer break and will be looking continue to build momentum after getting stronger at the later stages of the first half of the season.

Snetterton is always a track to produce close racing and drama and this weekend should be no different as the BTCC bursts back into life.
