MLS Pick ‘Em 2015: Week 21 – LA Galaxy v. San Jose Earthquakes
With their win this weekend, Sporting Kansas City continued their hot streak, and the writers did the same. All of the writers at the top of the table continued to earn points, while the relegation fight got that much harder for the bottom three. Okay, we aren’t actually going to relegate anyone, but here are the updated standings:
Player | Points | Correct Outcome | Correct Score | Incorrect |
Russ McKenzie | 18 | 12 | 3 | 10 |
Jeff Krause | 17 | 13 | 2 | 9 |
Joseph Goldstein | 14 | 10 | 2 | 12 |
Eric Walcott | 13 | 13 | 0 | 9 |
Alec Rivera | 12 | 8 | 2 | 14 |
Ned Joyce | 7 | 5 | 1 | 17 |
Michael Norton | 5 | 5 | 0 | 17 |
John Richan | 4 | 4 | 0 | 18 |
This week, the Galacticos, I mean, LA Galaxy take on San Jose Earthquakes. San Jose has struggled to find consistent form this year, but the last time they met the Galaxy they put a 3-1 hurtin’ on ’em. This time they will be without Wondo though and LA picked up some Old English for a midfield party. Are we witnessing the prelude to another golden era for the Galaxy, or will the Earthquakes shake things up at the Home Depot Center? Here’s what the experts think:
Expert | Pick | Comments |
Joseph Goldstein
|
LA (3-0) |
LA at home are a force to be reckoned with. Sorry San Jose, but your trip home will be full of tears. |
Eric Walcott
|
LA (2-1) |
The Galaxy are once again everyone’s favorite, but the Quakes give nothing up easy. |
Alec Rivera
|
SJ (2-1) |
BECAUSE I REFUSE TO GIVE STEVIE G A WIN IN HIS FIRST MLS MATCH. |
Jeff Krause |
LA (2-1) |
The Galaxy are rolling, despite getting bounced from USOC, while San Jose continue to be wildly mediocre. |
Russ McKenzie
|
LA (3-1) |
Stevie G’s official MLS debut starts on the bench, and ends in a beat down of San Jose, who just can’t seem to keep up with the Galaxy show. |
John Richan |
LA (2-0) |
Steven Gerrard will kick off his debut in class with a victory over San Jose. |
Michael Norton |
LA (2-0) |
And you thought retention funds were messed up? Look for recently un-DP’d Omar Gonzalez to have a big game at both ends of the pitch…and Gerrard to do something Landon-esque. |
Ned Joyce |
LA (3-0) |
LA are the new super team and without Wondo SJ will sputter. |
