2015 British Grand Prix Manor Preview

It’s a slightly new look for the Manor Marussia team this weekend as they head to their home event, with a notable new sponsor on the side and some notable improvements to the car in an attempt to close the gap to the cars in front. It will be the first home race for the team under the Manor guise, and the first home Grand Prix for driver Will Stevens.

2015 British Grand Prix Manor Preview

No. 28 Will Stevens
Form: 16/17/17/17/R

Stevens suffered his first retirement in F1 last time out at Austria after an oil leak which was sustained in an incident earlier during the weekend. Nonetheless, he looked quite out-of-touch with Roberto Merhi all weekend long. Stevens will be hoping to switch things around here at his home race though, and try to put on a show for his fans in the grandstands. Stevens has raced here a few times in the past in the Formula Renault categories, but this will be his first time racing here in a car with notably more power.

No. 98 Roberto Merhi
Form: 17/18/16/R/14

Merhi has definitely looked the stronger of the two Manor guys ever since Monaco, and is now consistently showing why Manor trusts him with this seat. His World Series by Renault campaign has taken off only recently too with the Pons team, so whatever was up with Merhi at the start of the year appears to have subsided. Merhi’s form here hasn’t been too bad as well, taking a win and two second places back in his F3 championship winning year, although his GP3 results here were nothing to write home about with 19th and a retirement. Like the Red Bull Ring, Merhi will be racing again here in 3.5 later in the year.
