The Nashville Predators have signed 25-year-old free agent centre Cody Hodgson to a one-year contract worth $1.05 million. Hodgson had been put on unconditional waivers, and seen his contract bought out by the Buffalo Sabres earlier in the week.
Hodgson was originally acquired by the Sabres in a much-publicized deal that saw Zach Kassian go to the Vancouver Canucks.

The following is the press release from the Predators and the National Hockey League.
Predators sign Hodgson to one-year contract
Cody Hodgson signed a one-year, $1.05 million contract with the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Hodgson, 25, spent the past four seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, scoring six goals and 13 points in 78 games in 2014-15. In 289 career NHL games spanning five seasons, Hodgson has 61 goals and 134 points.
Hodgson was selected in the first round (No. 10 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. Former Sabres general manager Darcy Regier signed Hodgson to a six-year, $25.5 million contract in the summer of 2013. In 2013-14 he had NHL career-highs of 20 goals and 44 points.

If you saw Hodgson play at WJC in OTT or Stalberg at UVM, you never would have imagined either being bought out so soon. It’s a hard game.
