Yesterday was a solid day for our pitchers. Taylor Jungmann only went five innings, but he allowed no runs on four hits and two walks, striking out five. Mr. No-Hitter Chris Heston had a solid start yesterday as well, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in seven innings, striking out six. I think you’ll continue to see good matchup opportunities with these two, but don’t feel the need to become too attached. Even though Jungmann had a good start yesterday, he’s still young, and pitching about half of your starts in Miller Park is not an ideal situation for a rookie cutting his teeth in the majors for the first time. Speaking of rookies and ideal parks, I would continue to use Heston in every home game, since he gets the benefit of spacious AT&T Park to quell any fly balls that might want to become homers. Now on to tomorrow’s streaming pitchers!

Charlie Morton RHP PIT (vs. ATL)
So Ground Chuck finally had that bad outing that we’ve been waiting on him to have on Sunday, and it was really bad. He gave up nine runs on eight hits and a walk, all while only getting two outs. It was bound to happen, but that it happened all at once is what was so surprising to me. Regardless, he’s like Chris Heston, in that he gets to call PNC Park home, so any decent matchup at home is one he should be getting used in. This one is definitely no different, as the Braves are an 89 wRC+ on the road and a 96 wRC+ against righties. Stream away once again!
Tim Lincecum RHP SF (vs. COL)
TIMMEH! I used to love watching him pitch, but he’s lost a step or two in the last few years. He’s been okay this year, but I wouldn’t use him in just any situation. However, like Heston above, pitching in a good matchup in AT&T Park is just the way to try him out. He gets a good one here, as the Rockies are hitting at an 83 wRC+ on the road and a 96 wRC+ against righties. He should be able to handle the Rockies’ bats with ease.
Good luck and happy streaming!
