The second night of the 2015 YMCA Capital City League season got kicked off with a bit of an upset. The star studded ADIO Chiropractic team was beaten due to 30 and 27 point performances from Kourtlin Jackson (Iowa State) and Monte Morris (Iowa State.)
The team got a bit of a backup from Casey Schlatter (Drake) who had 18 points.
On the other side of the ball, Georges Niang was all over the place. The Iowa State senior had 38 points, 14 rebounds, and also raised his YCCL record in career points to 797. To achieve 1,000 career points, he must average at least 25.3 points per game.

Capital Orthopedics (1-1) 105, Renaissance Granite (0-2) 76
Ore Arogundade (Drake) continued to impress on Night two as a 34 point, 17 rebound performance while leading his team to a win. Arogundade added six assists as well.
Incoming freshman Nick Noskowiak (Iowa State) contributed with 24 points of his own during his second game in West Des Moines.
Reed Timmer’s (Drake) lead role came short once again as the sophomore played his second straight 30 point game. Timmer had 31 and seven.
Overtime: Hannah Homes 116, Walnut Creek YMCA 110
Friday Nights finale was marked with a high scoring matchup between Hannah Homes and YMCA.
Deonte Burton (Iowa State) and Kale Abrahamson (Drake) combined for 58 points and had help from here and there around the rest of their team roster to get the win.
Although, in a losing effort, four players on YMCA had 20 or more points. CJ Rivers (Drake,) Jordan Johnson (SWIC,) Terrance Bush Jr. (Drake,) and Nick Weiler-Babb (Iowa State,) respectfully had 27, 27, 23, and 28.

The YCCL Father’s Day Showcase will be kicked off with Reed Timmer’s Renaissance Granite team trying to upset Phoenix RR. RGQ has yet to see help from Abdel Nader who did not play in the first two games for unknown reason(s.)
5:45pm CT: Walnut Creek YMCA (1-1) vs. ADIO Chiropractic (1-1)
Another player yet to make his season debut in Jameel McKay, could hurt YMCA in this matchup with ADIO. The team will put up a fight, but McKay would help immensely.
7:00pm CT: Hannah Homes (1-1) vs. Capital Orthopedics (1-1)
Coming off their first win of the season, in overtime, Hannah Homes takes on Capital Ortho in the closing matchup on Father’s Day. Ore Arogundade will try to continue his success against Deonte Burton and Hannah Homes.
