Nate Karns had a good day for us yesterday, going 6.0 IP with 7 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. He didn’t get the win, but he was right there with Chris Sale, and he kept the Rays in it until they won it late. Mr. No-Hitter Chris Heston did okay, but he got saddled with a tough-luck loss, going just 5 IP with 7 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. So much for there being no such thing as a “no-hitter hangover,” right? I still think he’ll continue to be a good matchup guy for the rest of the year, though I still wonder if having a no-hitter under his belt and some more good starts will lend to him getting picked up in more leagues. Now, on to tomorrow’s streaming pitchers!

Charlie Morton RHP PIT (vs. CWS)
Tomorrow is #GroundChuckDay! Are you ready? I told you to hold on to him. Did you? Well, go get him again while you still have the chance. He isn’t going to have the strikeouts to be worth owning full time, but in matchups like this one, it’s too good of an opportunity to pass up. The White Sox are hitting a low 82 wRC+ on the road and an 88 wRC+ against righties. That wonderful pitcher’s haven known as PNC Park will keep the few fly balls Chuck allows in the yard, so take the opportunity to keep that ERA down.
Nathan Eovaldi RHP NYY (vs. MIA)
Is Eovaldi a good pitcher? Some say he might be. He has a super fast fastball. He’s been working on a splitter. But he’s still inconsistent with it. And with a lack of movement on his fastball, he still isn’t a great pitcher yet. Sorry for the barrage of links, but I find pitchers fascinating, none more so than ones with big fastballs that still can’t find success. Eovaldi still has just enough stuff to be a good matchup play, in my opinion. He gets a good one tomorrow against the Marlins in Miami. That spacious ballpark will keep the homers from flying out, and the Marlins only hit an 83 wRC+ at home and an 81 wRC+ against righties. He’s got a chance to have a quality start here, so I’d give him a shot.
