The New Orleans Saints have locked up their franchise pass rusher for years to come.
The Saints and defensive end Cam Jordan agreed to a five-year extension Tuesday, the team announced. The new contract is worth up to $55 million with an extra $5 million in incentives. It also includes $33.8 million in gauarantees according to Fox’s Mike Garafolo and the NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport.

Cam Jordan, Saints agree on five-year deal
Cam Jordan, who will turn 26 in July, earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl after recording a career-high 12.5 sacks in 2013 under a vastly-improved Saints defense. His sack numbers dipped to 7.5 last season, but the fifth-year edge rusher has tallied at least 7.5 sacks and 47 tackles in three consecutive seasons.
Drafted twenty-fourth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, Jordan has developed into a solid starter. His athletic ability gives him an advantage in both passing situations and in stopping the run. His teammate Mark Ingram, who was selected No. 28 in that same draft, signed a four-year deal with the club earlier this offseason.
With both Jordan and Ingram earning Pro Bowl berths in back-to-back campaigns (Ingram in 2014), the Saints presumably have their future faces of the franchise after quarterback Drew Brees.
