LWOS WEEK 7 TWO-START PITCHERS TO STREAM
Trevor Bauer, SP, Cleveland Indians, Yahoo! Availability 35%
Probable Starts: 5/19 @ Chicago White Sox; 5/24 vs. Cincinnati
Trevor Bauer was great in his last start, going 7.1 innings, allowing only 1 run, and striking out 10 in a no decision vs. the Cardinals. He has been solid all season, collecting a 3.67 ERA and more strikeouts than innings pitched. This week he goes up against the White Sox and Reds, two teams with very inconsistent offenses. Bauer has already faced the Sox two times this season, going a combined 13 innings with only 2 earned runs allowed. Pickup Bauer if he’s available and start him this week.
Rubby De La Rosa, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks, Yahoo! Availability 85%
Probable Starts: 5/18 @ Miami; 5/23 vs. Chicago Cubs
Rubby De La Rosa has been solid his last two outings, going 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA. He’s been hit or miss so far this season, but one thing that De La Rosa has been consistently doing is striking batters out. He has punched out 42 batters in 44 innings this season, and this week he will face the Cubs (most strikeouts in the league) and the Marlins (7th most strikeouts in the league) who are very prone to missed bats. Not to mention the Marlins only mustered one hit in their last game. Start Rubby De La Rosa and expect a good week from him.
Carlos Frias, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers, Yahoo! Availability 92%
Probable Starts: 5/19 @ San Francisco; 5/24 vs. San Diego
Carlos Frias has filled into the Dodgers rotation well, producing a 3-0 record to go with a 2.89 ERA. Frias didn’t have great minor league numbers or strikeout rates, but has shown good stuff at the major league level, punching out 16 batters in 18 innings. These great numbers may not continue, but Frias will give your team a chance for a win every night. Frias has two decent matchups this week in the Giants and Padres, especially given the weak Giants lineup. Frias is worth a two-start stream this week in deeper or rotisserie leagues.
