20Ten Racing: A Team With A Heart

If you were at Donington Park for the BTCC meeting and walked around the support series’ paddock, you may well have seen a fund raising exercise at 20Ten Racing.

The popular and friendly Clio Cup UK team were heavily involved in raising money for the British Heart Foundation with Graham Field proudly sporting the association’s logo on the front of his car. Sophie Jardine, BHF Fundraising Manager, said:

“As a charity we rely on fundraising events and donations to continue with our vital, life-saving work. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Graham Field of 20Ten Racing for choosing to support the BHF in such a generous way this weekend. It was great to have volunteers collecting over the weekend, and hopefully there’s still more to come via the fundraising page, justgiving.com/grahamfield. Many thanks to all at 20Ten for their hospitality and support yet again too!”

Simon Hunt, 20Ten Racing Team Manager, said:

“The BHF is a charity we regularly support locally by sponsoring events, donating prizes for raffles and auctions, and supporting their national fundraising campaigns. It’s nice that Graham wanted to support the BHF this weekend, and we were pleased to welcome volunteers to join us. It’s a very worthy cause and we would encourage other drivers and teams to support them, to help raise even more money and awareness.”

Field himself said:

“I am proud to support the amazing and life-changing work the BHF undertakes. Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer but the BHF is leading the fight against it. Your donations will help to fund the BHF’s researchers’ tireless work. With our support, the BHF will improve the lives of babies born with heart defects, find the genes that cause inherited heart conditions and maybe, one day, find a ycure for heart failure and heart disease. The BHF do tremendous work & I wanted to use the Clio Cup to help remind people whilst at the same time hopefully raise some well needed funding.”

It was a good weekend for 20Ten with Jordan Stilp gaining a superb podium in the race carried over from Brands Hatch. Stilp was suitably delighted with the result and whilst not enjoying the best of luck in the other two races, he impressed all with some spectaular driving.

Team mate Mark Howard had a quiet weekend in general and as for Graham Field, he was happy enough with his performance in the Masters Trophy of the Clio Cup. Importantly, the BHF livery received a lot of TV time, so all in all, the whole team were happy.

At the time of writing £150 was raised with more to add which is a fine effort on a particularly cold weekend.
Sophie Jardine is delighted at the generosity of fans at Donington Park as are the team themselves. It is great to see 20Ten Racing using their status to give something back to the world.
