D.C. United ties New York 2-2, stays first in East

Washington, D.C. (April 11, 2015) – D.C. United (3-1-1, 10 points) maintained its place atop the Eastern Conference standings with a 2-2 draw against the New York Red Bulls (2-0-2, 8 points).

Perry Kitchen scored once in each half for D.C. United before the Red Bulls answered with two goals in the final 22 minutes.
With the tie, United extended its unbeaten streak at RFK Stadium to 14 straight games in all competitions, including 10 consecutive in league play.

D.C. United returns to action against the Houston Dynamo at RFK Stadium on Saturday, April 18 (Comcast SportsNet, 7).

*D.C. United is unbeaten in three straight matches and off to its best start since 2006. That year, the team was 3-0-2 (11 points) after five matches. In 1997, the team was 4-1 (10 points) after five matches.
*D.C. United is 33-24-10 all-time against the New York Red Bulls, and 20-10-5 at RFK Stadium.
*D.C. United is unbeaten in four straight games against the New York Red Bulls at RFK Stadium.
*D.C. United is 3-0-1 in 2015 when scoring first.
*Perry Kitchen scored his first two goals of 2015, the eighth and ninth of his career.
*Taylor Kemp registered his first assist of 2015, the third of his career.
*Chris Rolfe registered his second assist of 2015, the 30th of his career.
*Davy Arnaud made his 300th career MLS start.
*Michael Farfan made his first start for D.C. United. It was his first start in MLS since Oct. 26, 2013
*Head Coach Ben Olsen’s overall record is now 52-65-36. He is 4-6-3 against New York.
*Bobby Boswell made his 59th consecutive regular season start, the second longest current streak in Major League Soccer behind New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles (76 games). Boswell has 39 consecutive starts since his return to D.C. United in 2014.
*D.C. United made one change to the starting lineup from the previous game against Orlando, with Michael Farfan replacing Nick DeLeon: Hamid, Kemp, Opare, Boswell, Franklin, Rolfe, Arnaud, Kitchen, Farfan, Pontius, Arrieta.
*Jared Jeffrey came off the bench for his first appearance of 2015.
*Bill Hamid made his 24th straight regular season start and finished with five saves.
