2015 Chinese Grand Prix Ferrari Preview

Finally after nearly two years of waiting; the Scuderia got another win under their belts in the searing heat of Sepang.

Sebastian Vettel uplifted the paddock with a change of colour on the top step of the podium, giving everyone a sense of hope that finally the Mercedes cars can actually be caught.

Unfortunately it could be a one time glimpse at what could be; While Mercedes looked to have been beaten in Malaysia; in equal conditions the silver arrows are still the fastest outright car on the grid. Ferrari have definitely made inroads into Mercedes deep advantage, but there is still work to do.

Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen looked to have settled in well together as team mates and despite the results looking very much in Vettel’s favour, the ‘Iceman’ is not lying down idly; It was a case of what could have been for the Finn in Malaysia as the car worked very well for him and after a early puncture he still creeped up to finish fourth; had this puncture not have happened, he would certainly been up there fighting the Mercedes.

Williams have clearly been overtaken by the Maranello outfit, but Mercedes won’t be happy about this and could very well attempt to help Williams with their power units just to help them get on terms with Ferrari, but by how much are they prepared to help them?

Both Vettel and Raikkonen have won the Chinese Grand Prix before and with the car looking to have a healthy balance it certainly will perform well with circuit’s demanding characteristics; But can the prancing horse keep up with the silver arrows in Shanghai?

I for one, cannot wait to find out!
