Manor, the team formally known as Marussia, turned up at the Albert Park circuit after their 11th hour attempt to save the team but they did nothing more during the weekend. Both Will Stevens and new boy Roberto Merhi did nothing more than sit on the sidelines all weekend, which disappointed many, and even prompted an investigation from the FIA. Whilst the team got away with any wrongdoing after it emerged that the team had no software for the power unit anymore, they did get a rather angry response from Bernie Ecclestone on their absence from the circuit. Nonetheless, Manor aim to at least take part this weekend at Malaysia, although not a huge amount is expected of them.
2015 Malaysia Grand Prix Manor Preview
No. 28 Will Stevens (GBR)
Stevens hopes to take part in what could well be his second Grand Prix here in Malaysia. The intra-team battle between himself and his new team mate will be well and truly one to watch as we hope to see some fine battles at the very rear of the field. Stevens has no experience of the Sepang circuit, which may hinder him a bit.
No. 98 Roberto Merhi (ESP)
Like Stevens, Roberto Merhi also has zero experience of this track. The Spaniard is yet to announce just how many races he is doing with Manor as he refuses to rule out doing Formula Renault 3.5 as well despite the clashes later on in the season. For all we know, this could be Merhi’s one and only Grand Prix to date if the car runs, but we will simply have to see about that.
