MLS Pick ‘Em 2015: Week 3 – RBNY v. DCU
Ned is still leading the pack, but some other writers broke through to earn their first points of the season thanks to the Galaxy’s equalizer, courtesy of Alan Gordon, deep into stoppage time. Here’s how the standings look:
Player | Points |
Ned Joyce | 3 |
Eric Walcott | 1 |
Jeff Krause | 1 |
Russ McKenzie | 1 |
Joseph Goldstein | 0 |
Alec Rivera | 0 |

This week the New York Red Bulls open Red Bull Arena for the 2015 season. The game between the two rivals might be overshadowed by off field events, but nonetheless should provide an entertaining game for the nearly sold out crowd. The Red Bulls will be shorthanded defensively, but DC will have to contend without the services of Fabian Espindola thanks to his suspension after an incident with a ref in DC’s playoff defeat at the hands of NY. New York is looking to earn their first win of the season, and DC might be just the team to give it to them.

Draw (1-1) | Red Bulls early season form over the last 5 years has been mostly forgettable. I don’t see that changing here. After conceding the first goal, they find an equalizer, but no more. |
Eric WalcottStaff Writer | RBNY (2-1) | Neither team impresses me right now. I think both will be on the edge of the playoff race, but it’s a rivalry game and Red Bull won’t want to lose at home. |

DC (3-1) | Pink Cows’ defense is depleted, therefore at home they’ll be defeated. Hamid comes up big to stop the NY midfield flurry. |
Jeff KrauseEditor | RBNY (2-1) | Chris Rolfe will continue to show why Chicago should’ve never traded him, and BWP will get on the board. The game will remain level until late when RBNY scores the game-winner and Bill Hamid loses his mind. |

RBNY(2-0) | It’s always nice to open a home schedule against the Scum. I see BWP opening his 2015 account and South Ward being grumbly. 2-0 win will be a feel good moment for RBNY. |
John RichanStaff Writer | Draw (0-0) | Lots of goals in MLS this season, however these old foes will battle to a stalemate. DC got a lucky one against MTL in week 1 and both teams are coming off a bye week in cold conditions. |
Michael NortonEditor | DRAW (1-1) | Both sides get a repeat of their Week 1 score lines. Look for a Sacha Kljestan strike to break an otherwise solid defensive effort from D.C., and a Red Bulls gaffe to gift Nick DeLeon a point-salvaging goal. |
Ned JoyceContributor | DC (2-0) | I hate both teams. I want to put 0-0 but Red Bulls don’t have any good defenders so DC will probably get 2 ugly goals |
