Justin Forsett to Re-Sign with Ravens

According to reports, free agent running back Justin Forsett will re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Sources are saying his new deal is for three years.

One of the NFL’s biggest breakout backs from last season is staying put.

According to reports, free agent running back Justin Forsett will re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Sources are indicating his new deal with the team is for three years at a total of $9 million.

Justin Forsett had an outsanding season in 2014. His ability to get outside the tackles is amongst the best in the league. What might come as a surprise to many, is that Forsett will be 30 in October of this year and is already playing for his fifth NFL franchise. His success in Baltimore gave him a great platform to ask for serious money in 2015.

Speed is Forsett’s screaming talent that must be tuned into by the defense at all times. He is used to run outside more often than anything else. He has some power but not enough size to be considered for consistent work horse inside of the tackles. This is the tough call an offensive mind must make to get Forsett paid. How much is a guy that can score from anywhere BUT can’t be trusted with fourth and inches worth?

While Forsett has been a journeyman he found a place to market his talents with the Ravens last season, following their public divorce from Ray Rice. Forsett ran for a career high 1,266 yards and nine touchdowns, almost equaling his combined total for the previous seven years.
