Cromartie signed a one year ‘prove it’ deal with the Arizona Cardinals in 2014, had 49 combined tackles, 10 passes defended and 3 interceptions, but this effort still saw the Cardinals finish mid-table in passing yards per game but the defensive effort helped an embattled Arizona make the playoffs and Cromartie elected to his fourth Pro-Bowl.
Starting his career as a Charger, Cromartie was drafted 19th overall in the 2006 draft, after not playing his final year in college due to a ACL tear during voluntary team workouts in 2005. After 4 successful seasons with the Chargers which saw him amass an astonishing 15 interceptions and 2 touchdowns, Cromartie was traded to the New York Jets for a conditional 3rd round pick, which was later increased to a 2nd rounder after a strong performance.
His time as a Jet saw him elected to the Pro-Bowl twice and earn a four year $32 million contract in 2011. While his numbers weren’t as stellar as his time at the Chargers, he had a very respectable, 160 combined tackles, 13 interceptions 1 TD and an astonishing 51 passes defended.
