According to reports, Cornerback Darrelle Revis has signed with the New York Jets. Exact details of the contract are not yet known, but Adam Schefter of ESPN is the deal is reporting that the deal will have more than $40 million in guaranteed money.

Following the New England Patriots doing the expected and declining his second year option on Monday night, Darrelle Revis became a free agent with the commencement of the league year. The Patriots were unlikely to pick up the second year of the star cornerbacks $32 Million deal as it carried a cap number of $25 Million, a number not many Super Bowl winning teams could afford for a cornerback.
Revis was originally selected 14th overall in the 2007 Draft by the New York Jets and has established himself as one of the premier corners in the league, no easy feat for a player who stands 5ft 11in. In 2012, his final year as a Jet, Revis tore his ACL and missed all but two games that year.
In 2013 he signed a mega 6-year $96 Million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being traded by New York. The deal the highest at the time carried no guaranteed money and within a season Revis had been cut when no trade partner could be found.
His time at New England proved more fruitful, bouncing back to have 47 combined tackles 14 passes defended and 2 interceptions helping the Patriots to lift the Lombardi trophy. Turning 30 in July, Revis has established himself as a lockdown corner able to shadow the best receivers in the game.
