The “Sanchise” is staying put in Philadelphia.
After a season where he had a few impressive outings filling in for an injured Nick Foles, it’s being reported Sunday that Mark Sanchez will sign an extension with the Eagles. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting Sanchez will sign a two-year deal totaling $9 million with $5.5 million guaranteed.
In his one season with #Eagles, Mark Sanchez started 8 games & had a career-high completion percentage, career-low in INTs. Now he’s back

The 28-year-old Sanchez spent last season as Foles’ backup with the Philadelphia Eagles. When Foles was injured he stepped in for the team, playing in 9 games (with 8 starts). Sanchez completed 64.1% of his passes for 2,418 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions for a career high 88.4 quarterback rating. He also had one rushing touchdown.
The Long Beach, CA native was the New York Jets first round pick, fifth overall, in the 2009 NFL draft, out of USC. Sanchez played for the Jets for four seasons, leading the team to the AFC Championship Games in each of his first two years in the league. However a disastrous 2012 season, which included the highly publicized “Butt Fumble” spelled the beginning of the end in New York. After Sanchez missed the entire 2013 season with a shoulder injury suffered in training camp with the New York Jets, he became a free agent and signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia.
Over his five-season career, Sanchez has completed 56.3% of his passes for 14,510 yards, with 82 touchdowns and 80 interceptions and a 74.1 quarterback rating. He also has 429 career rushing yards, and 13 rushing touchdowns.
